Trip to Utah: Part 1

We went to Utah last week for Cade's football camp at BYU - (check out Cade's blog for pics) While he was there, the other kids and cousins went swimming at grandma and grandpa Jenkins.

These cute girls have so much fun together.

We also went to see Toy Story 3. Way cute!
We were all having such a great time.. until Wednesday night. Around dinner time, Cade said he wasn't feeling well. We all figured he may have been dehydrated from his camp, and needed to rest. WRONG! Before I knew it, he was throwing up. Later that night, we got everyone in bed, and then I got it - BAD. For the next two days, I couldn't keep anything down. Then Haylee, and Evan were next. Bryce was the last to get it, but his wasn't quite as bad. It was horrible! Who goes on vacation, and has the whole family sick and throwing up?? Only the Wilcox's! We also got one of the cousins sick (which is what we did last month when we had strep and the cousins came to visit). I think my family may ban us from visiting them for awhile:)

Part 2:After surviving the HORRIBLE stomach bug...

We went to the park to eat popsicles

The older kids went exploring in the woods behind the park

The next afternoon, we decided we were alive enough to go to Boondocks in Kaysville. Kendal and I only stayed for Mini golf and bowling because I was still feeling sick:(

G-ma and G-pa came along with us

Kendal managed to hit a hole-in-one.. all by herself. She was the only one who got one!

We went inside to cool off and do some bowling - and watch the world cup while we were at it.

Later that day, everyone came to grandma's and grandpa's for dinner. The girls went out to pick strawberries from grandpa's garden

The boys played basketball..

and then it was time for more popsicles:)

Well, we survived the trip to Utah! Unfortunately, on our way home, we got a phone call from some of our friends who were coming over to take care of our dog. He said he opened our garage door to the house, and water came pouring out. Seriously?!! Apparently, our water line to the fridge had frozen and busted while we were gone. There was a couple of inches of water in our kitchen, office, bathroom, laundry room and down into the family room. There is tile in all of the rooms, except the office. We had to tear up the wood in there. The carpet in the family room also got wet, so we have to tear it out and replace the padding. Oh.my.gosh. Thankfully, we have some amazing friends - Mike and Al, who spent their entire Sunday cleaning most of it up so we would at least be able to walk in when we got home. I don't know what we would have done without those two! We were still up till after midnight tearing out baseboard, and spent most of the day today cleaning up as well. Between this and almost all of us getting the flu on vacation.. I think I need a vacation!

Haylee's Dance Recital

This year she danced to Michael Jacksons "You are not alone".

She is the front right one.

It would have been a great shot.. except for the huge speaker in the way!

Bryce giving her flowers at the end.

Haylee and Claudia

and so another season of dance is done. She will start again in August, but this time she is going to give hip hop a try. She has always done ballet and tap - but she has more of a hip hop personality:)

The lazy days of summer are here!

We started off Memorial day with a 5k run. Cade took 3rd place in his age group (boys up to 12 years old) He did great!

The rest of the day, we spent lounging (and splashing, of course) in the pools at my parents condo with our friends Steve, Alisha and their kids. We were there the week before with my parents, but the kids were all sick with strep throat, and the weather was bad. We had promised the kids once they were better we would go back. Monday the weather was perfect, and the kids were all healthy again, so we invited some friends to come with us. We all had so much fun!

Love the mis-matched floaties:)

Kindergarten Graduation

I can't believe my Haylee bug is old enough to be graduating (from Kindergarten). Sniff,sniff..

This was the performance for the parents. Their class was singing 'Start spreading the news.. we're leaving today. We're gonna be apart of it - 1ST GRADE, 1ST GRADE!! It was such a cute performance.

Haylee and Claudia.. these two are best buddies.

Big hugs from dad
Haylee with Kami and Kendal

Haylee and her cousin Emma from Utah.

Haylee, Claudia and Ryan in their typical pose with bunny ears. I think their first day of school picture had the bunny ears as well:)

These girls LOVED their teacher Mrs. Ghering. She was such a great teacher!

Shooting

A couple of weekends ago, we went shooting with some friends out toward Mt. Charleston area. When we first arrived, the kids got out of the car, and they discovered this desert tortoise. They all were excited to see and touch it, and we were just glad we didn't run over it as we pulled up!

I ended up hating my gun - but loved shooting Bryce's. I think we will end up trading guns.

This was Cade's favorite gun to shoot.

It was Evan's too. Haylee also had a turn with it, but my camera had died by then.

It was such a fun day with the Lamberts and Hutchasons who went with us. Can't wait to do it again:)
