Fun with Lauren

Last weekend G-ma and G-pa Jenkins came out, my sister Amy and her daughter Lauren decided to come along too for Haylee's dance recital (I will post pictures, hopefully later on today). The kids had a great time together.

This picture was taken just before church. Thanks to Amy for getting the girls ready:)

Cade always loves having someone over that can swim as well as he can. He and Lauren were jumping off our "diving rock" together, diving for diving rings and just having a fun time together.

It was evening, and there was a breeze outside. I told the kids to act like they weren't freezing - haha! This is what I got..

Swimming lessons

Haylee started swimming lessons for the first time this year. She has always been known as our little sun-bather. She has probably only put her head under the water a handful of times. That just wasn't going to cut it now that we have a pool. She had no choice but to learn to swim. We had heard about this incredible swim teacher, Ms. Brandi. She was amazing, and after just one week, my little Haylee is swimming - head under the water and all! She is loving her new found freedom, and has turned out to be pretty brave, so we have to keep a close eye on her.

After many, many requests...pics of the girls' room

Alright, the pictures don't really do the room justice, and the camera made the bedspreads look lavender. They are pink, I promise. So, after much anticipation (ok, maybe not) here is Haylee and Kendal's new room...

The plan for this wall is to get 2 white dressers, one to put under each name.
We have a ballet bar to go in front of these mirrors. It's in our garage, Bryce just hasn't had a chance to install it yet.

My friend Eloise made these adorable frames. She just put the vinyl lettering right onto the glass.

I have to give all of the credit to Carrie for making these pillows. She did such an awesome job, they are the cutest accents in the room.

Jessica's farewell

We went to San Diego for Jessica's farewell last Sunday. We are going to miss her so much. She is an amazing girl with such an incredible testimony. She got her wish, and is going to Spain. The people there are very lucky to have her. We were also glad to be there, because Darren was called to be Bishop. It was a surprise to us, but great timing that we could be there. The kids had a great time with their cousins. Haylee and Emily became glued to eachother at the beach, and were together right up until we had to leave to come home. It was such a fun weekend with most of the family together.

Disneyland & San Diego

Last week we went to Disneyland before going to San Diego for Jessica's farewell. Haylee was our little dare devil. She went on every fast, scary ride. She loved Space Mountain, and said it was her favorite. Cade wasn't quite so daring this time. He went on most of the "scary rides" but did not enjoy Space Mountain or the Matterhorn.. at all. It was interesting to have Evan and Kendal this time. It was 2 straight days of putting two kids in the stroller, head over to a ride, take both of them out. Bryce carried one, I carried the other. We went on the ride, and put them back in their strollers, just to head to another ride and do it all over again. We did have a great time, and the kids can't wait to go back again. One bonus for this trip is that Bryce has to have knee surgery next week, so he got to rent one of the scooters. We got to head to the handicap entrance on all of the rides, so we didn't have to wait in the lines. Great timing on tearing apart your knee babe!

After the 2 days at Disneyland, we went to San Diego, and straight to La Jolla beach. It was freezing! It was close to 70 degrees, but the wind made it so cold! We must be used to our desert weather here, because not too many people at the beach that day seemed to think it was as cold as we did. Cade didn't seem to mind to much, and the boys had a blast playing football.
