An August full of celebrations!

It all started with Bryce's 30th birthday. He has officially said goodbye to his 20's:( He did get a yummy dessert and some cute cards from the kids though.

Cade's arm that is stopping Evan from blowing out the candles, lol.

The next day it was on to Cade's 9th birthday.

This is his 'I can't believe I just got an Xbox 360' smile.

On Saturday we celebrated his birthday in a combined birthday party with his friend Zach. It was at the Mini Grand Prix.

These two also had a pretty good time.

and then diggin' in.

Haylee and Alyssa had so much fun going from ride to ride.

Of course, she was just a little too short to go on most of them, so guess who got to go with her...
Here we are on the most ricketty (sp?) rollercoaster. I think we went at least 5 times.

Cade and Bennet loved it!

Then we moved on to Evan's birthday. This picture was taken at 10:00 at night, and Kendal was already in bed (our nephew Josh is in town, that is why the kids are all so alert and happy this late at night)

Here is my big 3 year old with his cake.

Opening presents, he loved everything he got. Thanks grandma's and grandpa's for your gifts as well.

I love all of my boys, and love that they get to celebrate their birthdays together. This last week we also celebrated our 11 year anniversary and our 4 year temple anniversary. We have so much to be thankful for. It has been a busy two weeks and I am ready for a break until the girls' birthdays roll around in October.

*On a side note, Evan almost didn't make it to his 3rd birthday as he nearly drove my car into the neighbors house. That is for another post, and I am going running. I will try to post it tomorrow*

Our quick trip to Utah

We went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house on Friday afternoon. Check out Cade's blog for more about it.

We then met more family at Training Table for dinner.
I love her! My sweet Aunt Kathy:)

My sister Amy with Evan.

I love this pic!

Saturday was spent swimming at my parents condo and Cafe Rio for dinner while Bryce and Cade went to Mackay Idaho to fish (Cade is waiting for the pictures from Grandma Wilcox so he can blog about his trip. Be sure to check back on his blog for that). Then it was off to Kaysville and a visit with Great Grandma and Grandpa Kearl.
Later it was time for cousins. Katie and Haylee together again.

and a family game of HORSE

It was such a quick trip but we had a great time. We love you guys and hopefully we will see you again soon:)

The Thoughts of Cade...

Cade is about to turn 9 (I can't believe I'm OLD enough to have a 9 year old). He has occasionally asked about journaling. I haven't bought one yet, for fear of my 2 crazy little tornados that seem to destroy anything they can get their hands on. For example, last month we had 3 piano books, along with their assignment books thrown over the fence into the pool. This seems to be the story of our lives right now. Then, last night as I was blogging, I decided to start a blog for Cade. He loves to look at other people's blogs, and was pretty darn excited when I asked if he would like his own. I am hoping it will be protected from Evan & Kendal (although I don't know that I would be surprised if they figured a way to throw the computer into the pool:)

His blog address is http://thethoughtsofcade.blogspot.com

His goal is to blog at least once a week, more if something really exciting happens. I told him he could take pictures of anything he wanted to go along with his posts. I will print his blog once a year, and put it somewhere safe. This, for us, seems to be the perfect way to journal.

Feel free to check out his blog, and I'm sure he would LOVE any comments anyone would like to leave him.

Pioneer Days

We went, once again, to our traditional July 24th bash. The waterslide was a huge hit in the hot July weather. I was even tempted to go down it just to cool off!

This was the ball Evan threw just before the one that actually hit the target and dunked Cade. Evan has a great arm, and my camera wasn't ready in time!

Evan getting a spider painted on his face.

Kendal showing off her flower that she had painted on her face, but everytime she showed someone, she just rubbed it off with her finger. Haylee had a flower and butterfly painted on her face.

Ahhh, the squirt bottles to keep everyone cool.

The bottles always turn into a big water fight~

I am so bummed this picture came out blurry. We had some security guard take it, not sure what he did.... Anyway, these are our awesome friends who we go to Pioneer days with every year. We love you guys! (and miss all of our friends who used to come each year before moving away:(

Our yearly family picture we take just as we are getting ready to watch the fireworks.

Mt Charleston

Mt Charleston is a great way to beat the Vegas heat. We headed up one Sunday afternoon and had lunch. The kids, along with Spirit, enjoyed running and exploring. The 85 degree weather and overcast skies were perfect.

*Happy 4th of July*

We started the day off BBQing and swimming with friends, along with an intense game of football on the X-box between Bryce and Eric. Then it was nap time to get the kids ready for more friends coming over for dessert, night swimming and fireworks. It was a long day (everyone finally left our house around 11), but the kids loved every minute of it! It was an awesome day spent with lots of friends:)

When we tell Kendal to smile, she closes her eyes! I had to stop telling her to smile so I would have some pictures with her eyes open.

I love this cute dog of ours!

Evan and Kendal holding hands...so cute!

Haylee all decked out with her bow, shirt and flip flops! We love the 4th around here!

I'm not sure what this sad face is for.. but it's cute anyway.
