To San Diego and back- in one day!

I think we set a new record. Sure, we have been to San Diego more times than we can count, but never there and back in one day. But, that is kind of how our family rolls, so we decided, why not?

Cade spent his money he had saved up to buy a ticket to the Broncos/Chargers game. He has grown up with Peyton Manning as his hero. Now was his chance to see him in action.

My dirty car...but at least we could show a little support for our favorite QB:)

We woke up at 6, and headed straight for the beach! We got there in the afternoon, and had a few hours to play. The weather was perfect, and the water was surprisingly warmer than it's ever been before. This was definitely our best beach trip ever!

We collected lots of seashells, and came home with a ton of them. I'm sure the kids will find something to create with them.

Football on the beach? Of course!

Haylee is my little tumbler. She is ALWAYS tumbling. The beach was no exception for her. She loved tumbling in the water. Love this talented little girl. I am going to blow these pictures up and hang them in her room- maybe in black and white?

After the beach, it was straight to Qualcomm stadium for the game. I dropped the boys off, and the rest of us went back to Bryce's brother Darren's house for dinner and some more play time in their beautiful backyard. So grateful to them for hosting us for a few hours:)

The boys loved their seats. They were in the family section, so no smoking or alcohol. Perfect! They were ready to leave at half time, because Broncos were getting blown out! Thankfully they stayed, it was Peyton Manning's biggest comeback of his career. Needless to say, the boys were so glad they were there to witness it! We left to come home once the game was over. We made it home by 2am, and the kids were so good during the entire trip. Plus, the kids, and Bryce, all made it to school on time today. Monday Night Football...Success!!

*Lovin' Aggies Football*

This season has been a fun one so far! They are 5-0. Cade plays for the Arbor View High School Jr. Aggies as the QB. He has had a really good season, and with only 3 games left, I hope they finish just as strong!

Cade's best friend Allen is on the team too. It's been fun to hang out together at the practices and games, but they are moving soon to Ohio, and we are all so bummed:( At least they got this season together on the team though.

Tim Tebow

We have always been big Tim Tebow fans, so we were excited to hear he was coming to Vegas to speak. We went with some friends of ours, and had a good time. He spoke at a local christian church, which was a whole new experience in itself, lol, but it was good to hear him speak. He is someone Cade really looks up to, and I love that as a mom:)
Haylee and Cora with their wristbands ready to go in.
We were on the second row, right next to his mom and some of his family.
Bryce was even able to break away from studying for long enough to come, and then we all headed for frozen yogurt afterward. Yum!

Another year with the Rams

Cade played for the Rams again this year. He was their QB for the second year in a row (he is #1 in the pic below). It's been a pretty good season so far. They are 5-3 with playoffs this Saturday. They got rid of their horrible offensive coach, so this has definitely been a better season for Cade. He will be putting more updates on his blog after the season is over, so head on over there:)

Rams California Tournament Trip

*Victory dance*

Thanksgiving weekend we went to Cypress, Ca to play a tournament for Cade's football team. He led his team to a victory of 32-0. He has had such a great season as their QB. It has been a fun season to watch him run the offense, he has done really well. This is a tough team to live up to their expectations, so he has worked very hard. Way to go Cade! He still has two more games to play. This Saturday they play a team from Hawaii, and next week they will play in the Silver Bowl. It seems this football season will never end.. but none of us really mind:)

**It's THAT time of YEAR again**

I LOVE football season! Today was Cade's first game with the Rams. He was drafted as one of their two QB's. He is awesome in his position!

We have some serious team spirit:)

*The back of our shirts*

This was at 7am, prior to the game even starting.. I told them I wanted a picture and they totally posed on their own:)

Heading out to start the game. While Cade was in the game, they got 2 of their 3 touchdowns of the game. Way to go Cade!

Everyone back together after their victory against the #2 team in Pop Warner

The boys doing their victory dance!

It's no wonder the Rams are the 4 time champions for pop warner. This team and the team spirit is incredible. They had music in the stadium to get the team and fans all pumped up. By the end of the game, our side of the stands were nearly full with Rams fans (from Cade's age on up for the next division Rams team) Everyone was jumping, yelling and cheering so loud for the boys. This year is going to be a blast.

Quick trip to St George

We went to St George last week for a BYU Quarterback football camp for Cade. His coach was the new QB coming in to replace Max Hall. His name is Riley Nelson. It's kind of hard to see in this picture, but Cade is getting ready to throw the ball. You can check out Cade's blog for more about his experience.

After we were done with the camp, we took the kids to lunch and then went to see the St George temple. It was gorgeous! It was such a fun, quick getaway.

Las Vegas Bowl 2009

On our way to the game - waving our BYU flag

It was freezing that night.. we don't look too cold yet - I can tell we had just arrived. The way we looked by the end of the night was a different story. The wind was horrible! We were so bundled in sweatshirts, gloves, hats and blankets.
Usually they need people standing under the flag to keep it up. The winds were so strong it was doing the waving all on its own. The Army guys were struggling to hold onto it.

Halfway through the 4th quarter, Bryce and Cade decided to jump down onto the sideline. They figured the game was almost over, BYU was going to win, so if they got kicked out it wouldn't be such a big deal. As you can tell, no one even cared that they were there lol.

This was their view as they watched the last of the game.

They were one of the first to storm the field. They were right in the middle when the confetti came down. They were also able to get a bunch of picutres with the players.

After most everyone had left the game, and the players went to the locker room, we went over by the back door to the locker room to wait (yes we were still outside for another hour or so) to see Bronco and Max. When most of the players had come out, Bryce and Cade decided to walk around the barricade, and go wait in the locker room where it was warmer. Once again, no one said a word to them - they must have been able to sense a die hard cougar fan! Since it was safe, I also went in with them so my feet could defrost:)
First Max came out - he and Bryce talked for a few minutes. He signed Cade's wristband that Bronco gave him, and Bryce's shirt from the BYU vs. Oklahoma game.

Then Bronco came around the corner. Bryce held up the wristband and asked Bronco if it looked familiar. He got a big smile and said "it sure does". We talked for just a minute, and then Cade got a picutre with him, and thanked him for the wristband.
Cade said it was the best night of his life - I think it was Bryce's too!
